God’s Unfailing Love

By Dr. Creflo A. Dollar

This week’s topic: A Love For God

Have you ever witnessed a young child’s behavior after he is scolded by his mother? Even after being chastened, he or she will still run to his or her mom and cling to her legs. How is it that someone so young realizes the unconditional love of a mother but Believers sometimes have a difficult time understanding that God’s love for us is similar and greater?

As children of God, we must stand strong in faith and believe that He loves us. Sure, there are times when your soul may try and convince you God doesn’t love you, but you must renew your mind with the Word of God where His love is concerned. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done in life. God’s love is unconditional, unchanging, and unfailing. Don’t allow the enemy to bombard you with guilt and condemnation. He tries to persuade you that God’s love for you is conditional. This is a lie. You didn’t do anything to earn God’s love and nothing you do can make Him love you less. He is love (1 John 4:16) and unlike people, His view of you never changes—you are His beloved. The Bible declares, “…that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38, 39).

God accepts us as we are. However, in order to take us to greater levels in life, He sometimes has to correct us. Just like any good parent, no amount of sin or wrong doing could make the Father love and care about you any less. He will always open His arms to you; He’s delighted when you cling to Him.

How can you get a revelation of the unconditional love of God? First and foremost, the Word of God reveals His love for us. He loves us so much that He made His love for us official by putting it in writing. His Word will never fail. Every promise and provision outlined in the Bible is a reflection of His love. Read the accounts of great men and women in Scripture. They made mistakes, stumbled, and often fell: but God’s love and mercy was always waiting to bring them back when they turned to Him.

John 3:16 also reminds us of His love and ultimate sacrifice, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins. He wants us to be a part of His family and live with Him eternally in Heaven! He made the ultimate sacrifice so we could have a personal relationship with Him. When all else fails, and there’s no one else in our lives to rely on and depend on for love, God will always be there.

We often put so much faith in others to provide the kind of love we believe will make us whole, that we leave God out of the equation. People will fail you, but God never will. Instead of trusting in others to love you, try the God who has a track record of unfailing, unconditional love. He always follows through and will always provide what we need. You don’t have to ask God to love you; He already does. And because you belong to Him, He will continually show you how valuable you are. Allow His Spirit and His Word to minister to you. Believe in your heart and receive the truth of God’s matchless love.

Scripture Of The Day: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” – 1 John 4:8
