While on her quest to find love and faith, McCoy is also juggling the needs of her now-grown daughter, Kai, as well as her increasingly challenging relationship with her stylist Joe EXclusive. She’s also trying to rebuild her acting career while hoping to upgrade her cousin, Quincy, so he can get off her payroll.
Of course, McCoy does all these things in her own fabulously honest way, letting prospective suitors know that she’s expecting them to be solid financially (and sexually), while trying to figure out her own next moves.
This season, she’s advised by Rev. T.D. Jakes, as well as her girlfriend, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who once shared her struggle to find love until she met and married Pennsylvania state Sen. Vincent Hughes. Other guest appearances this season include Tatyana Ali, Bobby Brown, Elise Neal, Nelly, Twista, DeRay Davis, Chef G. Garvin and Jacque Reid. The nine-episode series, shot in Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas, will conclude with an hour-long season premiere.
“We’ve come a long way since we first started taping season one of this show,” said McCoy. “I am very excited to be back with TV One for Season Two and to share with viewers the many exciting developments and blessings in my life over the past year. I’ve had to fight for what I want and deserve, and I hope in some small way I can help inspire people – women especially – to go after what they want and fight for the life they deserve.”
