Remember when you had a CD player and a cassette player in your car?

Matter of fact, remember when you had a walkman?  Those started with cassettes, then they graduated to CDs.  But, when is the last time you saw anyone jogging through your neighborhood with either?  It’s all about the MP3 or iPod right?

Well, Ford is in agreement with the change and they are preparing to force a technology upgrade in some of their vehicles.  No longer will you be able to pack up your CDs (in playlist format) and hit the road.  Nope! You better have an iPod or some sort of MP3 formatted and ready to go.

And not only will the models play your digital music player, but they’ll also be wired for a device called a “dongle” that will make an Internet cafe out of your vehicle, according to the Daily Mail.  With the device, the car becomes Wi-Fi capable and you can access your Internet library.  Can’t wait or do you think this is premature?  Ford is taking a chance.

Read more about the changes here.
