Media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, has voiced her continued, unequivocal support for President Barack Obama, silencing the questions that no one has had the nerve to ask.

In the wake of recent rumors spreading like wildfire that she will not be supporting the 44th POTUS – either due to rivalry with First Lady Michelle Obama or fear of jeopardizing OWN ratings, depending on the source – Winfrey released the following statement:

“I supported Barack Obama in 2008 because I believed then as I do now that he is the right man for the job. I wanted to share my enthusiasm for his candidacy in hopes that others would see what I saw in him. As for 2012: If the campaign needs me, I’m happy to be of service. I’m in his corner for whatever he needs me to do.”

In 2008, constrained by her successful talk show – which ended in 2011 after an unprecedented twenty-five year reign in ratings – the politically correct Ms. Winfrey refused to allow her couch to double as a stump speech podium. She famously denied celebreality star and former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin, access to her audience during the presidential mud-slinging, but assured her that she “would love to have her on after the campaign [was] over”.

Whether Oprah is able to staunch the flood of criticism the president is facing from both extreme liberals and Right Wing conservatives remains to be seen. However, one thing is as certain as death and taxes: Where O goes, so goes white, middle-class America.

If the Oprah Effect sets the precedence, she will be a necessary factor in ensuring the President does not face eviction from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
