Did you hear the one about Katt Williams going off on a heckler and spouting a xenophobic—oops, we meant patriotic—rant?
According to The Huffington Post, Katt went all the way in on a heckler during his show in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday night.
Katt circled the stage during his set as he commented about how Mexican people lost control of California. “If y’all had California and you loved it, then you shouldn’t have given that mothaf*cka up,” he stated. “You should have fought for California, goddamnit, since you love it.”
That seemed to have rubbed one fan of Mexican descent the wrong way as he immediately started talking back to the comedian. Before things got too out-of-hand, Katt tried to clarify his point, but the way he did it just ruffled more feathers.
“You think I’m dissing Mexico and I’m defending America.” Katt said. “This ain’t Mexico; it used to be Mexico, motherf*cker, and now it’s Phoenix, goddammit. USA! USA!”
The heckler was eventually removed, but that didn’t keep Katt from continuing his rant.
“F*ck him! Mothaf*ckas think they can live in this country and pledge allegience to another country,” Katt said as the man was escorted out by security. “If you love another country more than you love America, then get to steppin’.”
