CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

An attempted kidnapping on Cleveland’s west side early Wednesday morning.

It happened at 7:30AM in the 3600 block of Denison Avenue.

The 15-year-old victim was walking on Denison when an unknown man driving a dark navy blue van tried to force the victim into the van.

“I was walking to school and the van came up and I heard someone behind me. When I looked back, he just hit me in my eye. So I started getting scared and I just blacked out for a minute and I hit my back. When I stood up, he was pulling me by my hair trying to throw me into the car and got me halfway into the car. The man helped me and got me out.”

The brazen suspect struck her several times with his fists, but luckily, the teen was able to get away with the help of a Good Samaritan. The suspect fled down Denison.

The suspect was driving a dark blue older model conversion van with a ladder on the back door and rust on the wheel wells.

Anyone with information in connection with this attempted kidnapping is asked to contact the Second District Detective Bureau at 216-623-5218 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
