CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

A possible break in the terrifying case of a teen nearly abducted by a man on Cleveland’s west side Wednesday morning.

19 Action News has learned Cleveland Police seized a vehicle near the West Side market late Wednesday. That vehicle may have been involved. It was towed, and detectives will check it for evidence tied to the crime, such as DNA.

The driver was not arrested since investigators first have to make sure they have the right vehicle.

The suspect in the attempted abduction was driving a dark blue older model conversion van with a ladder on the back door and rust on the wheel wells.

The 15-year-old victim was walking on Denison when the suspect tried to force her into the van. The suspect even hit the teen several times in the face.

Anyone with information in connection with this attempted kidnapping is asked to contact the Second District Detective Bureau at 216-623-5218 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
