LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) –
The father of a St. Ignatius student is accused of pushing a St. Edward High School football coach.
It happened at the junior varsity game on Friday, October 28th.
Dameon Willis, 37, tells police he was in the stands wearing a St. Ignatius football outfit to support his son.
Willis says people in the stands started yelling at him.
Willis then allegedly started pushing St. Ed’s Coach Bernard Russ.
Witnesses, including a Cleveland Police Officer who was in the stands, say Willis pushed Coach Russ repeatedly. And, Coach Russ then punched Willis in self-defense.
Willis was cited for disorderly conduct and escorted out of the game.
Coach Russ was not cited.
Neither man was seriously injured.
