HINCKLEY, OH (WOIO) –

Hinckley Police and the Medina City Prosecutor say they are not charging the driver who struck and killed a mom directing a school bus.

The accident  happened on October 18th at West 130th and Crestview.

Diane Plumlee, 54, was struck and killed by a pick-up truck, in front of her daughters school bus.

Police tell 19 Action News the bus normally just stops on West 130th and picks up the victim’s daughter, but on that morning, the bus turned onto Crestview – a dead-end street.

Since the bus driver could not turn around on Crestview, Plumlee was directing traffic to help the bus driver get back onto West 130th.

The pick-up truck drove around the bus and hit her.

Besides the victim’s daughter, several other children were on the bus.

Plumlee’s husband died this past summer and the couple now leaves behind three children.
