(WOIO) –

A convicted killer has just been moved to his cell at the death chamber for his final hours before he is executed.

Reginald Brooks is scheduled to die tomorrow at 10AM.

The Cleveland man was convicted in 1982 for killing his three sons after his wife served him with divorce papers. Brooks waited until his wife had left for work and then shot each of the boys before fleeing to Nevada, where he was arrested.

He has tried to claim he is mentally ill, but the court has repeatedly rejected that claim.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Prosecutor Mason said: “It is a travesty that Reginald Brooks has lived so long on death row after cruelly shooting his three boys to death.  Justice demands that Brooks’ execution go forward tomorrow.”

For his last meal, Brooks has requested lasagna, garlic bread, moose tracks ice cream, caramel  candy, chocolate cake, almonds, cashews, beef jerky and root beer.

19 Action News has learned Brooks still has an appeal pending before the U.S. Supreme Court, although the prison system expects the execution to go as planned.
