Stevie Wonder swayed by idea of Dancing with the Stars…

Stevie Wonder could celebrate the 50th anniversary of his debut album by dancing across our TV screens. The 61-year-old singer said he hopes to appear on a forthcoming season of the US series Dancing with the Stars, despite his blindness.

Wonder was asked about appearing during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Is there any truth to the rumour?” asked the chatshow host. “I’m losing weight,” Wonder said. “When I get to where I feel like I’m gonna look good enough for what I wanna do, I’ll do that.” After DeGeneres suggested Wonder already looks great, the singer remained undeterred. “I’ll look good in the beginning and I’ll look even better in the end,” he said.

Dancing with the Stars has never before had a blind contestant; nor has Strictly Come Dancing, the programme’s British equivalent.

Even if Wonder is not quite ready to foxtrot on US television, Gary Barlow wants him to sing on The X Factor. Barlow is reportedly making calls to Wonder, trying to organise a duet with his act Marcus Collins. It is hoped he might join Adele, Michael Bublé and Coldplay on the season eight finale.
