CLEVELAND – Cleveland native and celebrity chef Michael Symon dropped a few hints for his newest project on his Facebook page Wednesday morning.
Those cryptic posts had the whole area buzzing.
“It will be a Cleveland location.. Not east or west… Cleveland proper,” the Food Network Iron Chef said on his page. He also posted a menu.
NewsChannel5 talked to Symon on the phone as he was visiting family out of town. He said he can’t say where the location will be or when it will open, but he did confirm this is a venture he’s been working on for a long time.
“I want to open a place that is filled with twists and turns … a place that reminds me of all that’s good in Cleveland,” Symon said.
The Symon fans we talked to say they are very excited to see what he has up his sleeve. Aaron Marks, who loves to try new restaurants, says Cleveland is growing and he’s very interested in Symon’s new venture.
“I love that he’s a Cleveland loyalist. Even just looking at the menu items, it’s all stuff reminiscent of the city. Just the way people think here,” Marks said.
“I think Michael Symon is a visionary. I think he has done very well in the past. A good new restaurant in the heart of Cleveland will be a great boom to our economy and to the image of Cleveland,” said Phyllis Rotman, who is a fan of Symon’s B Spot burgers.
