Marcus Vick, the former college football quarterback and brother of Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick, is a fugitive from justice.
Marcus Vick of Hampton, Va., was due to report to jail on Monday afternoon in Virginia, but failed to appear at 5 p.m. As of Tuesday morning, Vick had not shown up at jail in Virginia.
A bench warrant was issued in Newport News, Va. for Vick’s arrest.
The reason for the arrest is “failure to appear” to serve a 10-day sentence. Marcus Vick decided not to appeal contempt of court charges after twice not appearing for a charge of driving on a suspended sentence.
His appeal was withdrawn on Feb. 23, 2012 in the Newport News circuit court. 27 year old Marcus had a brief NFL career, after following Michael Vick to Virginia Tech as a high-profile quarterback.
He had a series of off-the-field issues in college that derailed his career. Michael Vick is currently the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.
