Despite a 22-year prison sentence, former Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo remains a free man.
One year ago on December 15, Frank Russo was sentenced to nearly 22-years in prison stemming from the Cuyahoga County corruption investigation. Why is this guy not in jail?
Turns out, Russo has been the benefactor of several government delays.
Prosecutors want him kept free in Cleveland so he can prepare cases against other defendants in the Cuyahoga County corruption investigations. Nobody knows how long that will take, because other defendants’ cases keep getting delayed, so Russo remains free.
Expect another request for Russo to remain free through July soon.
