AVON, OH (WOIO) –

Having a “Merry Christmas” is a lot more likely now because of the kind deeds of a Secret Santa.  He came to the Avon Wal-Mart and gave a whole new meaning to “Satisfaction guaranteed.”

He paid of layaways for two dozen people he doesn’t know.

“I think that’s fantastic.  I can’t think of a better thing to do at Christmas time or any other time of the year,” one shopper told us.

He was in a very joyous mood, dishing out $8,800 to make Christmas bright for children whose parents are struggling to buy what their kids need.

“We don’t all have that kind of money but we do what we can.  Pay-it-forward.  My mom always said whatever good you do, it always comes back to you,” another shopper told us.

“That’s very generous of them especially this time of year when people are suffering with unemployment.”

The people the Secret Santa paid for were about to forfeit their 10% down and their layaway fee.

The whole concept of paying-it-forward is nothing new.  Back in the 20th century, industrialist John D. Rockefeller from Cleveland, used to give nickels to kids and dimes to adults to help them make it through other tough economic times.  If you can… give what you can.

Whoever you are Secret Santa, thank you and Merry Christmas!
