CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

The man who prompted a tri-state Amber Alert when he took off with his four young children was in court Friday morning.

Octavia Hatchell pleaded not guilty to robbery and domestic violence charges.

On Wednesday, the 33-year-old called his wife and told her he was going to kill himself and their children.

Hatchell went to Horizon Science Academy Denison Elementary and H.S.A. Denison Middle School and picked up their four children ages 6, 9, 10 and 11.

Hatchell is known to carry a weapon and was believed to be headed towards Pennsylvania or New York. The Amber Alert was pushed into those states, too.

Hatchell and the children were found unharmed in Euclid, thanks to an astute citizen.

The judge ordered Hatchell not to have any contact with the victims or witnesses. His bond set at $50,000.
