Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd! The best way to celebrate earth day is to get out an enjoy the earth! Earth Day is about being environmentally conscious and not wasting the earth’s resources. Here are a few activities that you can do with your kids to celebrate Earth Day.
1. Plant a garden – Children love to get their hands dirty while learning at the same time. Take a trip to your local home depot and get all the supplies you need to plant a garden. Have your child pick out the seeds and/or flowers that they want to plant. Once you get all the supplies needed, head home and start planting. Talk to your children about the importance of planting gardens and how it affects the earth.
2. Earth Scavenger Hunt - Give a list of items for your children to find in nature. Then have them draw pictures of what they found and then finish by talking about the things that they found.
3. Spring Clean the Green Way - This is a great activity that your kids will love and parents too! The spring is a perfect time to try new green cleaning products. Your child can help you with the windows while you clean the floors. Turn on some good music and start cleaning!
