AKRON – A juvenile male is in custody this morning after investigators say he started a blaze a family member’s house.
Fire crews responded to calls for a house on fire on the 2300 block of 12th Street SW around 9:00pm Monday. The entire rear of the home and back porch were engulfed in flames.
The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and four children displaced by the fire. No injures were reported, but damages from the fire are estimated to run more than $40,000.
The suspect is believed to be a step-nephew of one of the residents.
