A shocking video released by South Carolina police shows two elementary school employees brutally smacking a special needs child repeatedly on a bus.

Police said the two women, Tomeka Self and Rosanna Dudley, were arrested last Friday on charges of assault and battery. The disturbing video shows the women hitting the 10-year old St. John’s Elementary School student again and again as he wept.

The young boy is not able to speak and police said he was never aggressive toward the two women. Self and Dudley became violent with the boy after they struggled to put his safety harness on.

Throughout the minute and a half video, the two women hit, slapped and pushed the boy in the face again and again. At one point, one of the women responded to his cries by saying ‘hush, hush’ and continued her aggressive activity. Investigators said a bus driver told school officials about the incident at St. John’s Elementary school and the school told police.

The two employees were put on administrative leave without pay following the incident.
