CLEVELAND – A national real estate website has ranked Cleveland in the top 10 for the greatest cycling cities in America.

HGTV’s frontdoor.com listed the city at No. 10, one behind Chicago, in an article published May 10.

The story’s author calls Cleveland the “underdog” of the list, but said it’s home to “an impassioned and persevering community of bike riders.

The write-up cites the city’s “Complete and Green Streets” ordinance, which requires 20 percent of money spent on road projects to go to bicycle-related features.

The cities making the top five are:

1) Portland, Oregon

2) New York, New York

3) San Francisco, California

4) Minneapolis, Minnesota

5) Washington, DC
