ASHLAND, OH (WOIO) –

Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a 33-year-old mother who never returned from vacation with her boyfriend and two kids.

Ashland County Sheriff’s Captain tells 19 Action News Lynn Jackenheimer went to Nags Head, North Carolina last week with 27-year-old Nathan Summerfield and her children, ages 3 and 13.

Summerfield returned on Sunday with the children. He dropped the kids off at their grandparents and then drove off.

Raymond Johnson, Lynne’s stepfather, says Summerfield dropped the 13-year-old special needs girl at his house on Dorchester.

“She was all by herself when we found her. He left her in the house took the little boy to his parent’s house,” said Raymond Johnson.

Police say there is evidence Summerfield may have something to do with Lynne’s disappearance. A 911 called made by his brother supports the theory.

911 CALL: My brother was in North Carolina with his ex-girlfriend and he came back and said he strangled her.

If something happened to Lynne, investigators are trying to sort out if it happened in North Carolina or en route back to Ohio. Johnson says the children aren’t saying much. On Sunday, police recovered both Summerfield’s and Jackenheimer’s cell phones.

“They mainly cry for their mom, that’s what they are doing,” said Raymond Johnson. “We are hoping for the best, that’s all.”

Authorities say Summerfield is driving a dark gray 2009 Honda Civic, license plate FMV7540.

Jackenheimer is listed as a missing person.

Police in Nags Head are also involved in the investigation.
