CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – Cuyahoga Falls police have issued an arrest warrant for a mother after her 4-year-old daughter was reported alone and crying in their front yard Thursday morning.

Police say they responded to a call for a girl wandering and crying on the 2600 block of Elmwood Street at 4:37 a.m. Once there, officers discovered the little girl in tears standing with a next door neighbor.

The 4-year-old girl was saying her mother left, according to police. When searching inside the home, police found no one home.

Officers were unable to locate an immediate family member or relative to care for the girl, so she was brought to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.

The child is now in temporary custody of the Summit County Child Services Board.

Police said they identified the child’s mother as 30-year-old Colleen Testa.

They have issued an arrest warrant for Testa on a first degree misdemeanor charge of endangering children.
