CLEVELAND – Police are at the scene of a shooting on Cleveland’s east side early Monday morning that left one person dead.

NewsChannel5 crews at the scene have learned a fight started inside of a club called Sir-rah House off Lee Road and Judson Drive at about 2:30 a.m.

The fight, according to police, spilled into the street and about 200 people were outside when a man pulled a gun and began shooting into the crowd.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the chest four times and died, police said.

A police officer was also involved in the shooting, investigators said, but the suspect was not hit by any bullets.

The gunman, according to police, ran away and hid in the backyard of a nearby home, but officers caught him.

Evidence markers are all over the parking lot, as police take photos and document the shooting scene.

Right now, police said there was only one victim in the shooting
