“It’s the most…wonderful time of the yearrrr!” That popular line from a Christmas song is quite applicable to “back to school season”! In Texas this weekend will mark a “tax-free holiday” on various items such as merchandise, clothing and supplies for back to school. This Fashion/Style Friday, let’s take a look at some of the supplies that make an “A” grade when it comes to school!

So this year you will have a locker? Well then take the time to decorate it! From inexpensive picture frames that will capture and hold those pics of you and your buddies during the summer from a special picture with that special person, a picture or two in your locker is a great way to carry fun inside your school day. You can also make your locker fun with posters and other things you would normally hang in your room. When it is allowed between classes, your locker is the place where you will exchange books, touch up the hair and regroup for the rest of your day, so make it fun!! But hey… don’t be late for class; it’s a locker, not a lounging area.

When it comes to writing utensils such as pencils and pens, you can never go wrong with color! Help mom out in scoping out great deals on colored pens and pencils and even color code them by the classes you will take.

On to the markers and crayons! There are great deals on markers and crayons they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. For those large projects, you could opt for great boxes of them or for those small tasks, choose smaller boxes of them. Regardless of their use, you will definitely find great opportunities to use them.

Staying organized during the school year means putting work and homework in its rightful place. So let’s move on to the binders and folders. Make sure to purchase these items in bulk as they can become frayed and dogeared throughout the year. Having enough on hand for the entire school year will save you time and money.

Don’t forget the other supplies that are needed such as glue, rulers, protractors and perhaps a package of tissues for those sneezes. Chances are your school will have a list of things that are needed and between you and your parents/guardians you will think of everything that is needed. Consider purchasing some of your items in sets. For example. If you are prone to leave glue at home, why not keep a glue bottle at home and one at school. Organize your supplies so that you have them right when you need them.

So now you have all of the cool tools for school, so where are you going to store them? The backpack you choose is essential! Consider one that can store all of your things but will not give you a hernia from class to class! When choosing a backpack, think compartments when you’re choosing. Aside from having one in your favorite color, consider purchasing another one as they tend to go through lots of wear and tear during the school year.
