CLEVELAND – A downtown Cleveland hotel, near the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, is getting a $64 million overhaul and a new restaurant.

The Westin Cleveland Downtown, occupying the space that was once the Crowne Plaza Hotel on St. Clair Avenue, is set to open in spring 2014 after the renovations are complete. Ohio-based Marous Brothers Construction already began the remodeling in December. Plans include the renovation of the public areas, event spaces and guest rooms. When its finished, the hotel will feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, a business center and a Starbucks.

But that’s not all. Cleveland’s LAND studio is set to commission more than 1,000 pieces by local artists that will hang throughout the hotel, including a major sculpture above the main entrance.
