CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

Curiosity drove the interest in the Christopher Dorner manhunt that played out in California, but in the end, for people at the Diner on East 55th, it was some level of fear that a former police officer, a military man, could turn into a cold-blooded killer.

“The most frightening part for me is that a cop would do something like this, and go on the run and getting away with it, it makes me feel like I am not safe,” said Diner customer Jasmine Washington.

Then again, for some it’s not at all surprising that someone with Dorner’s background would snap.

“There’s a lot of guys under a lot of stress in that industry, in the police industry and you’re going to have guys that breakdown and some things go bad,” said Bill Ferkol while having breakfast with his wife.  “What are you going to do?” he said.
