CLEVELAND – Cleveland has once again made Forbes magazine’s yearly list of America’s Most Miserable Cities, but there is good news: Cleveland continues to drop down in the rankings.

The magazine named Cleveland the 17th most miserable city, citing its 3rd highest exodus rate of people over the last three years. But that’s an improvement from years past.

Forbes ranked Cleveland No. 12 in 2012, No. 10 in 2011, and the city topped the list in 2010.

Cleveland also made the list in 2009, coming in at No. 4.

Forbes has previously cited Cleveland’s weather, sports teams, and public corruption as reasons for it making the America’s Most Miserable Cities list.

Forbes says this year, it looked at nine factors in the 200 largest metro areas in the U.S., including violent crime, unemployment, foreclosures, and weather, among other things.

1. Detroit, MI

2. Flint, MI

3. Rockford, IL

4. Chicago, IL

5. Modesto, CA

17. Cleveland, OH
