A Florida mom has been charged with aggravated child abuse for allegedly using a box cutter to stab two teens who she says were bullying her sons.

“I will defend them. I don’t want them to fight,” Nora Silva told ABC News’ Orlando affiliate WFTV. The incident began when Silva’s 14-year-old and 17-year-old sons got off of the bus on Tuesday afternoon. Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s house shows a group of more than a dozen boys surrounding one of Silva’s sons and pushing him to the ground.

Silva, 33, and her mother Esther Silva, 63, got into the scuffle, according to police reports. “I jumped in the middle…and I grabbed him and told him, ‘You are not going to hit my grandson,’” Esther Silva told WFTV. She said that she was the one who used the box cutter, but authorities tell a slightly different story.

Orange County sheriff deputies did not respond to multiple requests for comment, but told WFTV that when the fight had cooled down, Nora Silva confronted the teens again and started another fight.

Authorities say it was Nora Silva who stabbed two of the teens in the back. “I got him [Silva’s son] on the ground and started punching him, and then she [Nora Silva] came from behind and just stabbed me in the back,” Marcus Walker told WFTV.

The two stabbed teenagers were taken to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital for treatment and then released.
