CLEVELAND – Youth Opportunities Unlimited is again offering area teens a chance for summer employment. Through its My Summer Job Teen Employment Program, teens can register online for a chance to be chosen for one of nearly 4000 jobs that the program has lined up with area employers.

Throughout the year, YOU recruits companies that are willing to accept teens that are looking for summer work. The teens are then matched up with employers near them. The program not only finds nearby work for teens but helps them set up a bank account in order to receive wages paid by direct deposit.

The summer employees get a chance to hone their work skills and workplace etiquette. They also learn how to manage the money they earn during the summer.

Many employers have such a positive experience with the program that they end up asking the teens to stay on longer than the six-week employment period.

“We have a number of employers, TJ Maxx, CVS, University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic,” said YOU President Carol Rivchun, “who hire our young people and then they’re so thrilled with them that they continue them through the year.”

Registration can only be done online and continues through noon on March 29.
