In a first for Time Magazine, its annual 100 Most Influential People in the World issue – revealed today – will feature seven separate covers…one of which is Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.

Hov shares the distinction with actress Jennifer Lawrence, Elon Musk (CEO and founder, SpaceX; co-founder, Tesla Motors and PayPal), Sen. Rand Paul and teen activist Malala Yousafzai in the U.S. Internationally, Li Na and Aamir Khan are also featured along with some of the U.S. covers.

President Obama makes the cut for the eighth time, more than any other person on the list. Other repeats include Jay-Z, Shonda Rhimes, Justin Timberlake and LeBron James.

Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce and R&B crooner Miguel are among the stars on the list, joining Christina Aguilera, Bryan Cranston, Lena Dunham, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jimmy Fallon.

Each person on the list is profiled by another high-profile person. For example, Oprah Winfrey penned the blurb for Rhimes, creator of ABC’s “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy”: “Shonda is a storyteller for our times. Courageous in her approach to the work, she’s never played by other people’s rules. … She creates an assemblage of worldly foibles and aspirations. She understands that every dream is valuable and every identity deserves inspection through the looking glass of television.”
