CLEVELAND – Moments before entering a courtroom in Cleveland Wednesday, kidnapping and rape suspect Ariel Castro may have revealed a different side of his personality.

In the two times Castro has appeared in court since his May 6 arrest, his head has been down for the duration of his time in the courtroom.

But just before he walked through the courtroom doors Wednesday, his head was high and his eyes were directed straight toward the NewsChannel5 camera. And it appeared as if he had a slight smirk on his face.

But the second he entered the public courtroom, his head tilted forward and no emotion was shown in his facial expressions.

During the 90-second hearing, Castro’s attorneys entered a not guilty plea on his behalf to a 329-count indictment.

Castro is accused of holding Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight in his Seymour Avenue home for years. The three were rescued after Berry flagged down a neighbor for help.

What do you think about the look on Castro’s face before entering the room?
