CLEVELAND – Start with a dash of Epcot at Walt Disney World. Add a pinch of the Great Lakes Science Center. Stir in the world’s leading medical product and service companies. Attach it to a state-of-the-art convention center, and you have Cleveland’s Global Center for Health Innovation.

The one-of-a-kind center will be ready for its 20 tenants to move in this fall, companies like Steris, University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic.

There will be no cash registers, no sales receipts, just display after display of the latest innovations in health care, such as the operating room of the future.

“This is not a mart or a store,” Senior Vice President Jim Bennett said, “though it demonstrates products and services. It’s to show them, to showcase them and pique people’s interest who then later go and buy.”

Bennett said you don’t have to be in the medical field to enjoy the Global Center for Health Innovation. The interactive displays and activities will provide an interesting educational experience for everyone.

“This is a pivotal piece in that jigsaw puzzle of being a medical capital,” he said.
