NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – Morning and evening ceremonies are planned for Wednesday, Sept. 11 throughout northeast Ohio. The events will honor the lives lost during the terror attacks on our country twelve years ago.

Here’s a list of some local events:

1.) 8 a.m. in Lakewood: Head to Lakewood Park for an interfaith service.

2.) 8:30 a.m. in Cleveland: A ceremony is being held at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The TSA, Cleveland Police Department and other city officials will start the event near security checkpoint B.

3.) 9 a.m. in Berea: Head to the Berea Triangle. The mayor, police chief and fire chief will give speeches and the Berea-Midpark High School marching band will play taps.

3.) 9:45 a.m. in North Olmsted: Firefighters, police and the local VFW will lower the American flag at 9:53 a.m. to signify when the first plane hit the twin towers. At 9:59 a.m., bells will ring to signify when the first tower collapsed.

4.) 6 p.m. in Elyria: Community members can gather in downtown Elyria for a candlelight ceremony.
