Oprah Winfrey popped up at upstate New York’s Skidmore College on Monday to visit two students who graduated from her school in South Africa.

A rep for Winfrey’s cable channel OWN says the former daytime talk-show queen arrived on the Saratoga Springs campus to meet with the two alums from Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls. The boarding school for underprivileged South African girls opened in 2007.

The two young women are studying at Skidmore, a liberal arts school located 165 miles north of New York City.

Christel MacLean, co-owner of The Crown Grill, tells local media outlets that Winfrey and the two students had dinner at the restaurant Monday night in a private back room.
