OHIO CITY, Ohio – Ohio City residents aren’t alone; the Cleveland Planning Commission isn’t “lovin’ it” either.

Friday, they voted down a proposal to build a McDonald’s on the corner of Lorain and Fulton in the tight-knit Cleveland neighborhood.

The reason? There isn’t enough frontage for the double-lane fast food restaurant. They needed at least 40 feet.

A group of residents showed up in force to voice their concerns at the Friday morning planning commission, joining Councilman Joe Cimperman who said he worried about safety and the quality of life.

After the decision on McDonald’s, the room emptied, leaving just four or five people to hear from architects hired by the Browns in regards to their plans to upgrade FirstEnergy Stadium.

No word yet whether McDonald’s will present new plans or seek another location in Ohio City.
