CLEVELAND – You’ve put a ton of thought into your gifts this year, but it’s bound to happen: that sweater your aunt got you doesn’t fit or that toy you gave your kids doesn’t work.

Well, we’ve teamed up with MoneyTalks News to help you with some of the best return policies.

A recent survey from RetailMeNot.com showed 42 percent of people will return some of the presents they get this year.

With that in mind, MoneyTalks News has reviewed return policies.

Macy’s will take your returns at anytime. If you have a receipt, you’ll get the full price in a store gift card. No receipt, you get a gift card but you’ll only get the lowest price of the product in the last 180 days.

Costco says bring back virtually anything and you’ll get a full refund, but with electronics you have 90 days from the purchase date.

Nordstrom will take back any item bought from the store, anytime. Got a receipt? Don’t have one? Doesn’t matter.

Kohl’s says it’s ready to take your returns at any point with or without a receipt, but gift cards to Kohl’s don’t count in that policy.

L.L. Bean has a product “Guaranteed to Last” approach, but you could pay to ship the item back.
