BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The father of R&B singer Mary J. Blige was critically injured Thursday morning on this city’s south side, stabbed in the neck in what police said was a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend.
Thomas Blige, 63, remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon, Battle Creek police said. Police arrested his former girlfriend on a charge of assault with intent to murder.
Police said they were called to the Arbors of Battle Creek, an apartment complex, at 6:58 a.m. Thursday. They found Blige in his apartment with three stab wounds, including one to his neck.
