Wendy Williams with Smithsonian curator Dwight Blocker Bowers

*The Smithsonian in Washington DC is about to get a big, “How you doin’?” from Wendy Williams.

During Friday’s broadcast of “The Wendy Williams Show,” the host donated her bedazzled pink microphone and other memorabilia to the National Museum of American History for its new collection of items from daytime television.

Also headed to the museum are the The purple Tadashi dress and Christian Louboutin heels she wore for the show’s first promo shoot, a wig and wig head, a script and a light-up “diva fan” with Williams’ catchphrase “How you doin’?” [See photo above.]

“I’m so proud to host this messy little talk show,” Williams tells New York’s Daily News. “And I’m thrilled to bits that one of America’s most revered institutions – that I went to as a child! – deems me worthy enough to preserve this little bit of history for everyone to share.”

She adds: “This is such an amazing honor. I’m not sure anything in my life has ever compared to it.”

The Smithsonian says Williams is the first talk-show host to donate objects to the entertainment collection. Her TV show premiered in July 2009 and is currently in its fifth season. Previously, Williams had a 23-year career as a radio personality.
