EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio – The City of East Cleveland and Rumpke Waste and Recycling Services have come to an agreement Tuesday about a breach in contract over trash collections.

Rumpke reported to NewsChannel5 Tuesday the company is excited to announce the confirmation of trash collection to the City of East Cleveland will continue.

An agreement was reached Tuesday between the two parties, according to Rumpke.

In a statement Rumpke said, “We have enjoyed working with residents and becoming part of the local community. …  Rumpke and the City of East Cleveland are continuing to work together to resolve any outstanding issues.”

Originally, Rumpke, contracted by the city, was threatening to stop collecting trash due to a $300,000 debt.
