Opening up for the first time about everything that’s been coming out in the press, Columbus Short, appeared on the show to clear his name, while revealing that he’s not a violent person, he never hit his wife, he didn’t have a fight on the 4th and he wasn’t involved in the bar fight that happened back in March.

Peep the highlights:

The last three months, I have to say, have been one of the most trying times of my life. I think there’s a time when your personal life gets magnified by who we are as celebrities. Both of those two cases you were speaking of earlier, those are dropped.

On the bar fight on the 4th of July

I was involved in no fight. I was with a group of people that were eating. I went to the bathroom and came back and there was an

altercation ensuing. I guess the cops thought I was somebody involved in the situation. They grabbed me up. By the time I was on the ground I said in my…I apologized to the officers later….I said some pretty choice words.

On the bar fight back in March

There comes a time when you have to exercise patience and sometimes you get yourself into situations where you don’t realize that people are actually testing you. People are actually provoking you. When it was involving my wife, my estranged wife, who I loved dearly and wanted to protect, you’re going to do what you need to do to protect that.

Was she with you?

She was with me.[…] To be straight to the point Billy, I have no been perfect. But I have not been all of the things that’s been in the press.[…]I will take ownership. Me and my wife, we’re going through problems. Serious, serious problems. However, the domestic part of it, I’m not a physically violent man.

On if he ever hit his wife

I’ve never put my hands on a woman. Ever.[…]The divorce is going forward. There is a restraining order that is in effect.

On his kids

She’s great. She’s doing great. She’s beautiful. You know I love my kids Billy. So, you know, that’s tough for the kids.
