Recently, Apollo Nida was sentenced to eight years in prison for committing bank fraud and identity theft.

Now it’s almost time for Nida to serve his sentence in federal prison for his crimes. He’s just a couple of weeks away from being behind bars.

On September 10, the “RHOA” star and husband to Phaedra Parks will have to surrender to FMC Lexington prison in Lexington, Kentucky at Noon, according to RadarOnline.

Nida is somewhat lucky. He originally faced up to 30 years behind bars, but his sentence was reduced to eight years back in July.

Not only does he have to serve his sentence, but he has to pay $2 million in restitution. His crimes? He created fake companies. He was able to access databases in order to find individuals to rip off.

He created fake bank accounts under these folks real names — allowing him to funnel stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds after creating a fake auto dealership.

After many closed-door meetings with prosecutors, he reached a guilty plea deal in May after being accused for his crimes back in January.

Nida has hopefully learned his lesson this time. He previously served a six-year sentence for a car theft scheme. But he hopes to inspire other young men not to follow his path of crime.

“Don’t do as I do, but take my experiences and hope that it will give you a better platform,” he told RadarOnline.
