CLEVELAND – A Clevelander trying to be a Good Samaritan was stabbed several times and then robbed by the man he was trying to help.

That’s according to a post by the Second District Community Relations Committee, which turned to Facebook for help locating the suspect.

On July 30, the victim befriended a clean-cut Hispanic male in his 30’s, who stood about 5’8″ and weighed about 160 lbs. The victim offered to help the suspect, who said he was looking for work, fill out an online application.

They exited together at the Lorain/Fulton Road stop. The suspect ducked behind a garage and before the victim could react, he was slashed on the neck with a switch blade.

“Give me what you got. Phone and wallet,” the suspect demanded.

The two started wrestling over the knife and the victim was stabbed several more times. The suspect took $100 out of the victim’s wallet and ran.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans and may go by “Shawn.”
