Shopping online? A new study says you’re most likely doing it on a smart phone or tablet.

It’s official! 51% of online shopping is now conducted via smartphone or tablet, according to a study by Branding Brand.  It used to be a customer could only walk into a business through the front door; or by phone or mail order catalog. Then, for a time, most companies were obsessed with having a new presence on the web, which required the consumer to have a computer and an internet connection.  Now, consumers have all of that knowledge available in their pocket or purse, and shopping online has become a companion activity that can be done via tablet while watching TV, or as we walk through the store that sells an item we might be considering. Even if the majority of online shoppers are not physically making the purchase via smartphone (yet), they are entering your business through that door. Read more after the jump
