Aaron Lewis, the lead singer of rock band Staind as well as a country music singer, sang the national anthem ahead of Game 5 of the World Series between the Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants.
During the second line of the song, Lewis sang, “What so proudly we hailed were so gallantly streaming.” The correct words to the second line of the song are, “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming.” The line “were so gallantly streaming” comes a few lines later.
