Northeast Ohio native Amber Vinson was released from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta Tuesday afternoon.
Vinson gave a short statement during a 1:00 p.m. news conference.
The 29-year-old Vinson contracted the Ebola virus while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas. He died Oct. 9.
Vinson then flew from Dallas to Cleveland, and spent time in Akron before going back to Dallas. She tested positive for Ebola the day after she returned to Dallas.
The Dallas nurse kept a smile on her face during the entire news conference. “I’m so grateful to be well and I want to thank God,” said Vinson.
