As I was scrolling through my Facebook timeline recently, I stumbled across an interesting post made by a Kentucky father by the name of Kevin Jones. Apparently, Kevin discovered that his 10-year-old daughter had been lying about her age, carrying on a relationship with a secret boyfriend and creating secret social media accounts. As punishment for her deceitful deeds, Kevin forced the 5th grader to wear a t-shirt revealing her age, a hairstyle generally worn by little girls with barrettes and bow-bows and a kiddie bookbag. Kevin’s post reads:
“Since my beautiful daughter [redacted] wants to be grown & lie about her age. Saying she is 14,15,16,&18 years old. She claims to be in love and going out with a boyfriend which is completely against my rules!!!! I uncovered that she has been doing this for quite some time.
She also has snuck and obtained social media accounts, also against my rules!!!! Heres the consequences behind her actions. An age defining shirt. Yes people she is 5’9 & 10years old. #BuddiesBarrettesBallBalls.”
The post, which was made on October 21, quickly went vrial. To date, it has acquired 219,952 likes and 72,459 shares. Many Facebook users praised Kevin for stepping up and refusing to allow his daughter to continue on the destructive path that she was embarking on, including one poster who wrote:
“Good job dad wish there where more fathers like you.”
