Being a funny man every single day is never easy, and it hasn’t been for Wayne Brady. Because of his roles on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” “Chappelle’s Show,” and “Let’s Make a Deal” it makes it hard to believe that he’s been depressed for quite some time.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” the actor-comedian reveals that he has suffered from depression for years. “No, I’m not always happy,” said Brady, “because I’m human.” It wasn’t until his 42nd birthday where he really thought that something needed to change.

“I was there by myself, in my bedroom and I had a complete breakdown… and that birthday was the beginning of, ‘OK, I’ve got to make a change.’”

He also credits the suicide of Robin Williams to be his wakeup call.

The full interview will air on Monday, Nov. 10 on “Entertainment Tonight.”
