CLEVELAND – It was once called the world’s oldest profession. You know their names: Prostitute, tramp, call girl, hooker, whore.

Most of these people are actually victims: people being trafficked.

The State of Ohio ranks fifth in the nation when it comes to human trafficking, and in most cases, the victims are recruited young. More often than not that’s between the ages of 12 and 14.

Local experts in Northeast Ohio say if a child runs away or goes missing there is a 75 percent chance he or she will come face to face with a human trafficker within 24 to 48 hours. Local experts,
