Rev. Al Sharpton Eulogizes Etta James; Stevie & Christina Perform [VIDEO]

Music legend and idol Etta James was remembered by family, friends, and fans at a beautiful funeral service held at Greater Bethany Community Church City of Refuge in Gardena, Calif on Saturday.

James passed away on Jan. 20 at 73 years old after battling leukemia and dementia.

Among the celebrity guests who came to pay homage were the Rev. Al Sharpton, who eulogized the singer, Stevie Wonder, who performed with a church choir, and Christina Aguilera.

“Out of all the singers that I’ve ever heard, she was the one that cut right to my soul and spoke to me,” Aguilera said.

During the eulogy, Sharpton praised James for being the woman she was, beating a path for other singers and pushing through racial barriers through her music.

“She was able to get us on the same rhythms and humming the same ballads and understanding each other’s melodies way before we could even use the same hotels,” Sharpton proclaimed. He also applauded the Grammy-winner for overcoming poverty and drug addiction.

“At last, you can find peace now,” Sharpton concluded in his eulogy. “At last, you can get the gratitude of the savior now. Etta, you made it, you’re going home. At last! At last! At last!”

Stylist June Abrose has a new show coming to VH1, and Da Brat was a good sport, learning how to walk in high heels for a part of one episode.

AllHipHop.com received some exclusive pictures of Da Brat getting a makeover by famed celebrity stylist, June Ambrose. Here are some exclusive pictures of Ambrose’s new VH1 show, called “Styled By June”, where Da Brat learns how to walk in high heels and more.

“Though she’s not yet been fully “Styled by June,” rapper Da Brat took the first steps towards a new, more glammed-up image yesterday, when she hit the streets with Ambrose.

AllHipHop.com caught June out in the streets of New York teaching the Hip-Hop star a lesson in “Walking in Heels 101,” after picking up some challenging pumps from Guisseppe Zanotti on Madison Avenue. Rumor has it, Ambrose is working with Da Brat on a total rebranding and will have her making appearances soon that will featuring the platinum-selling artist rocking an incredible new style. Eddie Murphy‘s ex-wife Nicole and Will Smith‘s ex-wife Sheree will be the stars of a new reality show entitled “Ex-List.”

We are guessing that the show follows the lives of these woman after they’ve been “exed!” Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife was rumored to be having financial difficulties while we haven’t heard much about Wills ex.

Filming for “Ex-List” is scheduled to begin in March.

AL GREEN has given BARACK OBAMA his seal of approval after the President belted out a brief rendition of his soul classic LET’S STAY TOGETHER at a New York City fundraiser on Thursday (19Jan12).

Obama wowed guests with an impromptu performance at the Apollo Theater in Harlem and video footage of the event has since gone viral.

After singing the track’s opening line, the politician told the crowd his aides had doubted he would burst into song at the gala, saying, “Those guys didn’t think I would do it! I told you I was gonna do it!”

Now music veteran Green has spoken of his pride after hearing the president crooning his tune, telling TMZ.com Obama was “terrific”.

He adds, “He nailed it. I was thrilled that the President even mentioned my name, and if the President can get the economy going again and get everything going that he wants to, then we’ll all be together.”

Everyone knows the President of the United States gets perks, but this is hot! Spike Lee made sure Mr. Obama had the new Jordans a month early, and delivered in a customized wooden box with the presidential emblem engrained into it. You think we’ll see him sporting them any time soon?

Of course Barack Obama would get laced with a fresh pair of kicks. Spike Lee saw to it that Mr. President was outfitted with a pair of Jordan Spizikes courtesy of Michael Jordan himself, complete with a special wooden package that features the engrained Presidential seal and MJ’s number 23.

The sneakers are not one of a kind, though. They are the Bordeaux colorway, which will be available to most civilians, who don’t live in the White House, in February.

Oprah Winfrey says she is confident that President Barack Obama will win another four-year term in this year’s U.S. election.

The talk show host was addressing a literary festival Sunday in the northwestern Indian town of Jaipur.

Winfrey praised Obama’s handling of the presidency. She said his next four years would be even more successful, with people able to get back to work.

Winfrey backed Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign in her first-ever political endorsement.

She was among the biggest crowd pullers at the annual Jaipur Literary Festival, which b rings together top writers, poets and critics and around 50,000 literary fans from around the world.

Winfrey has been in India for a week filming programs for her new TV network.
