SEATTLE — When Justin Bassett interviewed for a new job, he expected the usual questions about experience and references. When I see the evolution of the case of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old boy who was killed by a night watchman under suspicious circumstances, I am both impressed and concerned. I am impressed that the world has come together to find justice for Trayvon. His death will not be in vain; for, I am sure there is a legislator who will be able to more readily pass an important gun control law as a result of Trayvon’s sacrifice. His death may save quite a few lives.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Wednesday, Cleveland's Public Safety Committee tried to wrap their heads around sick leave abuse at the Cleveland Fire Department. Council members got a memo that points out seven key issues that the latest audit of the fire department discovered. 19 Action News was first to break the story of internal abuse months ago.

The family of Jason Russell, the creator of the "Kony 2012" viral video and a co-founder of the advocacy group Invisible Children, said that "brief reactive psychosis" brought on his public meltdown on a San Diego street corner last week. "The preliminary diagnosis he received is called brief reactive psychosis, an acute state brought on by the extreme exhaustion, stress and dehydration," the statement reads. "Though new to us, the doctors say this is a common experience given the great mental, emotional and physical shock his body has gone through in these last two weeks."

Law enforcement officials in Sanford, Fla., investigating last month's shooting of an unarmed black teen by self-appointed neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman say they may have missed a possible racist remark made by Zimmerman to a 911 operator seconds before he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The officials made the admission to ABC News after revealing that Zimmerman can be heard on a recording of one of the 911 calls made on the night of the shooting saying what some people think sounds like "f***ing coons" under his breath.
